David Jonsson

A filmmaker and actor from East London, David’s on-screen roles include Rye Lane (Fox Searchlight) and Industry (BBC/HBO).

David spent his early teens making skate films in New York’s Washington Square Park and the Lower East Side. Led by his love of filmmaking he won a scholarship on the Warner Bros. Creative Talent programme and has since been mentored by senior members of BAFTA and the Academy of Motion Pictures and Science. In 2018, David gained attention for his mockumentary short, GEN Y. In 2020, Digital Spy named him as a Black British Star of Tomorrow.

David’s second short film, Honeybaby, which he both wrote & directed, is currently in post-production. He is currently writing a TV series for Clerkenwell Films whilst developing his own original ideas across both film and TV.
