Bio
Thomas won an Oscar for Best Short Film for his 1998 film ELECTION NIGHT. He received Oscar nominations in the live-action short category for his films ERNST & LYSET (1996) and WOLFGANG (1997) He wrote the script for AFTER THE WEDDING which was nominated for an Oscar as Best Foreign film in 2007. His THE NEW TENANTSwhich won the 2009 Oscar for Best Live Action Short, and IN A BETTER WORLD, for which he wrote the screenplay, won the Oscar for Best Foreign film in 2011 and the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film.
His directing credits include FLICKERING LIGHTS, THE GREEN BUTCHERS, ADAM’S APPLES, MEN & CHICKEN and sleeper hit RIDERS OF JUSTICE.
He recently worked on the RIDERS OF JUSTICE remake for Lionsgate, co-writing with Nikolaj Arcel with whom he originated the story. And he is currently developing alongside Arcel a limited series THE MONSTER OF FLORENCE for Apple, with Wildside and StudioCanal producing and Antonio Banderas attached to star.
